‘No employer in Australia can tell women to wear dresses’: so why can’t school girls wear shorts?

Ever tried to play chasey in a skirt? The thing flaps and billows like a clumsy tornado about your knees. If you’re serious about not getting tagged, nine times out of ten, undergarments will be exposed. Pride will be lost.

    The private school are trying to decline his enrolment

  2. I got my son’s primary school to add shorts, culottes & pants to the girls uniform by repeatedly talking about how their underwear showed when they were active on the playground. I think it was the word ‘underwear’ that got to them.

    I was born & raised overseas – I could NOT believe this antiquated policy was still accepted in the 21st Century-!

  3. I can only agree that it is incredibly old fashioned and to raise another sexist issue our son Sebastian is going into high school next year and boys have to have short hair. Seriously….. he is very excited that we will start a petition to challenge this. We were successful with parent information forms since he has two mum’s in one family and instead of mum and dad they now have parent 1and 2. Change is slow.
