  1. I agreed we have put too much emphasis on what should be a guide to teaches. If robots can correct it then the task is not creative enough.

  2. This is what many at the coal-face of education have been saying for years. Most students I have taught will procrastinate on having the spelling of words correct that they actually run out of time to write a story. Take the emphasis off spelling, punctuation and grammar, the part of writing that needs to have time spent with proper editing or make it a task that allows time to proof-read and edit before submitting. The people at ACARA and the various education departments throughout Australia are obviously not in touch with what actually takes place in a classroom if they believe that this test is relevant to anyone bar themselves. As a classroom teacher, I find this test totally useless as an assessment tool and equally irrelevant when discussed at data meetings.
