Bullying drives teacher to attempt suicide

A former teacher has been awarded a substantial sum after NSW courts ruled she had suffered "soul-destroying" workplace bullying that led to attempted suicide.

  1. And this is one case in many hundreds (conservatively) that is happening around the country. Because teaching is a mostly isolated profession we tend to ‘suck it up’ rather than complain or seek help. As a teacher who has had similar experiences, I feel empathy for this teacher and applaud her for standing up to what is becoming an increasing trend for putting the biggest ‘bullies’ in leadership roles within our profession. We all need to stand up as a profession and ‘rock the boat’ occasionally to show that we are not in agreement with what is happening. And what happened to the Principal in question? Probably bumped up to a higher position!
