David Thodey is chair of the board at CSIRO and the former chief executive of Telstra. He delivered the evening keynote on day one of EduTECH in Brisbane, on the subject of STEM education and the need to equip students with the skills to become innovators in our digital economy and prepare them for future jobs.
It was a freewheeling discourse from Thodey – at times it felt like he was free-styling – and it was certainly one of the most interesting talks at the conference. Education Review was there to capture it. When you hit play you will hear the sounds of Lean On by Major Laser, DJ Snake and MØ, followed by Thodey's presentation. The sound quality is a little scratchy but it was an interesting chat so it is well worth persisting.Do you have an idea for a story?
