10-year STEM plan makes high-school maths a priority

Mathematical sciences have directly and indirectly underpinned more than 22 per cent of Australian industry during the last two decades, with direct support totaling almost $60 billion. With this contribution in mind, the National Committee for Mathematical Sciences has called for an even greater focus to be placed on maths education in high school, in order to prepare students properly for university courses and work in the real world.
