The era of treating NAPLAN as a trial of endurance should be over. When we lower the stakes, we raise the potential for performance
When a student’s heart starts racing at the sight of a NAPLAN booklet, their prefrontal cortex – the part of the brain responsible for complex problem solving and literacy – essentially checks out for the day.
