I totally agree with Professor Dinham. I am a Primary teacher with 18 years experience who has developed a particular passion for both Writing and Mathematics. To that end, I spent the major part of my Masters studies focusing on how to teach Mathematics more effectively. Likewise, because of my wish to teach Writing more effectively, I have carried out much informal research into how best to teach Writing to my students.
It is a widely-held view that teacher’s teach best when they are passionate about the subject.
