School-family relationships are being pushed to breaking point, and school leaders are being left to absorb the impact.
For more than a decade leading schools, I was threatened, abused, and talked about in ways I had no power to answer. Parents sent emails that were meant to frighten me, and sometimes did. I was named in online groups I could not see into. Once, a routine enrolment letter I had sent home was live-streamed to a parent’s followers; my words read aloud and reframed for an audience I would never meet.
