Trans issues raise bathroom quandary for schools

You could be forgiven for never having stopped and considered the prefixes 'trans-' and, especially, 'cis-', until fairly recently. Much of the developed world has been tumbling along without bothering too much about the complexities and fluidity of the gender spectrum. This lack of contemplation has been brought to a screeching halt of late by a number of high-profile events that have cast a bright spotlight on the issues affecting trans individuals, calling on the wider community for greater understanding and commensurate equality to their humanity.

  1. Hannah McCann made the following statement: “when, really, women are made unsafe through wider structural institutions like the nuclear family”. We need to pay attention to this because Hannah is declaring her underlying agenda – she, and others like her, are at war with the traditional family. I wonder how she comes to this conclusion? Is seems to be a ridiculous point of view but, if I am understanding the things going on, many share her views in this post-Christian society we are rapidly becoming.
    What frightens me is that in this new post-Christian world, is it going to be people like Hannah who decide what is morally unacceptable and what should be legislated against? Do I want to live in a world defined by this point of view? Frankly, no.
