  1. What is wrong with healthy competition? Establishing a new school is an expensive and high risk exercise. They will have to be an attractive option to parents if they are going to succeed. If the established schools are spurred to raise their profile and performance as a result of the new players, then the real winners are the students of Charnwood and Molonglo.

    Paul’s use of “never” and “always” are unfortunate generalisations that distort the sport analogy. Perhaps a more helpful comparison would be the robust competition between service providers generally.
