A National Professional Standard for Principals – an Australian achievement

I feel privileged to have been part of a community of professionals developing the National Standard for Principals in Australia. From the start we have endeavoured to capture what Australian principals need to know, understand and do in one of the most important and challenging roles in society. This has been a process of real collaboration across the country involving aspiring and practising principals, the principal associations, researchers and other education professionals from all sectors, states and territories. Throughout the development we had access to a panel of distinguished international educational experts who provided feedback and support.
