An undervalued pathway

There's no question that adult education has come a long way since the proclamation of the Adult Community and Further Education (ACFE) Act in the Victorian Parliament in 1991. Originally it was to provide an option for mature-aged women seeking a second chance at learning, however neighbourhood houses and adult learning centres are now just as likely to be the choice of disengaged youth who have had negative learning experiences in mainstream educational environments.
