New leadership institute launched

A new cross sector education leadership institute in Queensland is believed to be the first of its kind in Australia. The recently launched Queensland Education Leadership Institute (QELI) has been established by the state’s public, Catholic and independent sectors to provide school leaders with the necessary skills and training to drive major education reform. QELI is governed by an independent board of directors headed by chair Steve Paul, who said each member brought diverse professional experiences in education, research, school leadership, corporate governance, business development and financial management to their roles. Guided by the board, QELI will support education leaders to make a difference through innovative and quality leadership programs and services, Paul said.
