Validating the Draft National Professional Standards for Teachers

This work will contribute to the development of the new national professional standards for teachers which began in January 2009. Informed by extensive research, expert knowledge and an examination of standards in use by teacher registration and accreditation authorities, employers and professional associations in Australia, the draft standards were the focus of national consultation with the teaching profession during March to May this year. The feedback received has been used to refine the draft standards, which will be used for the validation.
