ATAR ranks students in zero-sum game. It's time to scrap it
It’s a drain on the system and its overall purpose is no more than a sorting hat for universities

As a teacher and school leader, I have seen firsthand just how much our system devotes in taxpayer dollars, time, energy and resources to keep the standardisation processes required for the ATAR to be a valid and reliable instrument.
